WORD FOR THE DAY

THE GREATEST LOVE…
What can compare with it?
It gives, it bears, it cares
It nurtures, it covers
It enriches, it defends
It builds, it heals, it fills
It never wearies
Never gives up
Ever bubbling, ever sweet,
Ever alive….
Never weak, never sour,
Never discouraged
Never negative
Never judging
Never casts away…
Never turns its back
Never acts hurt
Never empty, never lacking
Yes, the greatest love
Lives in your heart…
Lives for YOU
What a joy!

-Ada Ezeka (2001)

WORD FOR TODAY

RESPONDING TO CHALLENGES…
Text : Nehemiah 1:4
” I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven… “

image

Challenges come unannounced – when you least expect them. They just badge into your normal, regular, settled routine. That’s right!
Bad news never prepares you for its coming.
It was so for Nehemiah. One day, a very disturbing news invaded his normal ” the king’s cupbearer” routine – Nehemiah 1:1-3!

HOWEVER…
From Proverbs 24:10, we see that, however, you can build up a solid lifestyle that keeps you prepared for anything. It says, “If you faint in the day if adversity, your strength is small. ” – not that the adversity/challenge was something else.
The Message translation puts it this way, “If you fall to pieces in time of crisis, there wasn’t much to you anyway! “ Period!

So the impact or effect of any bad news or sudden challenge that comes in your life, actually depends on the level of strength you have built up ( spiritual, mental, emotional, physical or financial strength). Jesus was faced with the challenge of feeding several thousands of people in the desert place where there was no kitchen, restaurant or shopping mall. But the Bible said, “… he himself knew what he would do. ” -John 6:6. That’s what happens when you have the required strength built up before the challenge comes. You see, it’s dangerous to live a careless life!

NEHEMIAH’S EXAMPLE
Your first response to any sudden challenge, crisis or bad news must be to separate yourself to “fast and pray before the God of heaven”, instead of worrying, making calculations or running helter skelter looking for man’s help. That’s God’s recommendation in Philippians 4:6 and also Hebrews 4:16; Psalm 34:5 (read please).
That was also Esther’s response to the crisis she faced after she became queen. She said to Mordecai, “Go gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me… My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king… ” – Esther 4:14-16.
Both Nehemiah and Esther knew that only God could deliver to them the winning strategy they needed to handle the issue at hand.

ON THE BASIS OF HIS WORD
Go to God on the basis of his Word that promises you victory over that particular challenge. Hosea14:2 says, “Take with you words (not take with you stories, not weeping, not the details of the challenge) and turn to the Lord… “
The reason you go before God in fasting and praying, is because you have something to discuss with him based on his promises concerning the issue.
The Word that you have first searched out, understood and believed with unwavering conviction, gives you a prayer language in prayer, and makes your faith strong to receive what you ask for in prayer –Mark 11:24.
Those who have nothing to say to God, instinctively turn to men or their bank account (instead of to God) in times of adversity.
Nehemiah said to God in his prayer, “Remember, I pray, the Word that you commanded your servant Moses saying… ” – Nehemiah 1:8-9
You don’t go before God in fasting and prayer with the problem. No! You go to him to negotiate, to reason with him, to discuss like a son with him based on what you know and understand from his Word. So, your greatest asset for victory in any challenge is your knowledge and understanding of God and his Word – read Jeremiah 9:23-24; Psalm 82:5-6; Jeremiah 5:4.
You will never again lose any battle to the devil, in Jesus precious name! Peace and blessings! .

MARRIAGE MATTERS | STOP THAT SUSPICION!

MARRIAGE MATTERS
STOP THAT SUSPICION!

image

Stop policing your husband /wife!
Stop suspecting your husband /wife!
Stop monitoring his/her movements!
Stop snooping around, checking your husband’s/wife’s phone calls and text messages looking for tell-tale signs! That’s not marriage! That’s not how marriage works. You’re hurting your marriage and hurting yourself big time; and empowering the devil to harass your mind and steal your peace! He’s just setting you up for a big fall, and you think you’re being smart. Stop it! Trust is the name of the game!

JUST FACE YOUR OWN ROLE…
Suspecting and keeping a tab on each other is not part of God’s recommended roles for us as husbands or wives.
In marriage, the husband and wife have been called to help each other, protect each other, defend each other, watch each other’s back, uphold each other, make up for each other’s weaknesses in loving partnership, trust and submission to each other. Not in fault-finding and judging each other’s performance.
Neither the husband or wife should have any form of superiority complex… Because both are heirs together in Christ.
Ecclesiastes 4:10 says to help each other come through any weakness, mistake or failure; not look out for a reason to quit the marriage or bring each other down! Lord have mercy!

MOTHERING SUNDAY…

At the Presbyterian Church last Sunday….Teaching on:
BALANCING WIFEHOOD AND MOTHERHOOD…

image

image

image

image

Many women have slaughtered their ministry of Wifehood at the altar of motherhood. Becoming a mother does not retire you from wifehood. Many begin to abandon their responsibilities to their husband’s even from the time they become pregnant…

image

image

YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
Pregnancy is not a sickness, neither should it be a handicap or a disadvantage. You are divinely packaged, wired and endowed to balance your ministry of Wifehood, Motherhood and Homemaking -Titus 2:3-5. None should be overemphasised more than the other. All you need is to make the most of the wisdom God created you with for Your assignment. That balance is very possible! Read Proverbs 31:10-31.

image

image

image

NATURE ABHORS VACUUM…
Your husband’s needs don’t suddenly cease or become less important becomes you became the mother if his children. May you not create a vacuum that a stranger may come and fill in your husband’s life…nature abhors vacuum.
Maybe your husband is not complaining, or can’t complain; but that doesn’t mean something is not spoiling.
Many men have been forced to seek love, attention, feeding and even sexual satisfaction outside their marriage because of this neglect… It’s a gradual thing…

image

image

Remember the primary reason you’re in that marriage is to help the man and meet the needs that God has ordained that only a wife will meet – Genesis 2:18. Motherhood is your secondary assignment.
May the Lord give us understanding, in Jesus name.

HUSBAND…
Husband, instead of keeping quiet, suffering in silence while things deteriorate, please help your wife to create this balance. Don’t leave her totally overwhelmed, confused and overlaboured! Please?

Motherhood, creatingabalance, wife, homemaking, husband, children, wisdom, assignment, communication, relationship.

SMALL IS BIG!

image

WAIT FOR IT!
Text: Isaiah 9:6
” For unto us a child is born,
Unto us a son is given… “

Where do trees come from?
Where does a forest come from? From a little seed sown/planted, nurtured and diligently watered and tended…
Where does a big thing come from? From a small thing that someone believed in, kept investing in and refused to give up on…
Every other mother watched Herod’s men butcher their baby sons… But not Moses mother! She looked beyond the baby boy to see a future deliverer for the Hebrews. So she got creative…Exodus 2:1-9. And her baby lived to become the man God used to deliver his people from Egyptian bondage – Exodus 3:1-10.
Yes, small is big!
Don’t give up on that dream; that ministry; that business, that problem child… No don’t. Let God see your resilience, your dedication, your investments and sacrifices, your faithful stewardship, and reward you with such a mind-blowing increase, growth, multiplication and expansion; and probably, a future President!
Yes, that’s how small becomes big! It’s not magic… it’s a process! Receive grace, in Jesus name!

WORD FOR TODAY

SAY “NO! ” TO FEAR.
Text: Isaiah 54:2-4
Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out.. and fear no expense…For you will soon be bursting at the seams…
Fear not; you will no longer live in shame…
Don’t be afraid; you will not be disgraced! ” – (NLT)

image

DESIRE TO EXPAND…
Fear paralyses initiative!
No matter the limitations and adverse conditions staring you in the face, desire to expand; to increase and to make progress in every area of your life!
Don’t limit yourself!
Don’t be your own enemy!
Don’t say, ” I can’t expand! ”
Don’t say, ” I don’t have anybody to help me.”
Rise up; go to God and cry out to him, ” Lord, help me! I want to increase. Open my eyes to something… give me a divine idea! ” (Read Isaiah 50:7-8; Genesis 11:6; Habakkuk 2:1-4. )

DON’T ENTERTAIN FEAR!
Don’t spare!
Don’t be lazy!
Don’t procrastinate! Venture! Take steps! Do something! Sow seeds! Make investments! Be creative – you have the mind of Christ (i.e., supernatural intelligence – 1Corinthians 2:16)!
Don’t entertain fear! God works with your faith not your fear!

TRUST YOUR GOD!
You need to trust this your God. If God says, “Expand! “; then trust him and go ahead and do what he says. Don’t listen to whatever the devil is telling you. Take your eyes off whatever he’s drawing your attention to – Read Jonah 2:8.

When you fear it means you don’t trust God – you’re doubting what he has said. That is counterproductive – read James 1:5-8. Don’t hurt your own dream! If God has spoken, then make your plans and go for it. Be resolute!
God said, “Don’t be afraid, you will not be disgraced! ” Just work with his leading and instructions.

HOW WILL IT HAPPEN?
Don’t go wondering, “How will it happen? ” Remember? You were created with the ability to increase and multiply. It’s all in you – Genesis 1:26-28.
Besides, Jesus has come – John 10:10! So it’s time for increase! It’s time for increase! It’s time do expansion! It’s time for enlargement! Praise God!

FAITH, Fear, dream big, fearnot, bold, confident, takeoffthelimits, trustGod,divinedirection, instructions, be creative, think, imagine, procrastination

WORD FOR TODAY

BE PREPARED FOR TRIALS!
Text : Proverbs 24:10
If you faint in the day of adversity; your strength
is small. “

image

TRIALS WILL COME!
That trials and challenges come does not mean that your faith is not working. Neither does it mean that God has left you.
God is as committed to you as he is committed to his Word that you’re holding on to. If his Word is there, he’s there; because he and his Word are one (John 1:1).

KNOW THIS…
Know that trials and challenges come to try your faith, and the Word of God in you. So, don’t disappoint your faith; don’t disappoint the Word!
Be loyal to the Word.
Don’t shift your ground!
Don’t change your confession! Don’t go for alternatives or plan B!
Don’t sabotage your faith or the Word at work in you and for you!
Faith works – Romans 4:17-21! The Word works – Isaiah 55:8-11!
Fight the good fight of faith – 1Timothy 6:7!

For Further Studies Read:
1John 5:4; Jonah 2:8; Psalm 23:10; Hebrews 3:15; Isaiah 43:3; James 1:2-8; Psalm 46:1; 1John 4:4; Psalm18:28:40. Lamentations 3:26.
Stay strong and determined! God is too faithful to fail you!

YOUR MARRIAGE AND YOU

DYNAMICS OF “ONE FLESH”
Text: Matthew 19:4-5
” He (Jesus) replied, Have you never read that He who made them from the beginning made them male an female,
And said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be united firmly (joined inseperably) to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. ” – AMP

image

IS IT POSSIBLE?
“One flesh”? Is it possible?
Is God not asking for too much? How shall these things be? (Like Mary asked in Luke 1:32-34).
Okay, one flesh for what?

IT’S A PROCESS…
Becoming one flesh in marriage is a process; which is what marriage is all about. A divinely ordained relationship between a man and a woman that have been legally joined together as husband and wife, which gives them the opportunity and legal platform to so relates and fuse back into “man“.
This is for the benefit of full and complete empowerment and authority to exercise dominion, rule and govern the earth, that God conferred on man (which he made male and female) -see Genesis 1:26:28.

IT’S MORE OF GIVING THAN TAKING
Becoming one flesh in marriage is a process; it’s a pouring in into one container (which is the marriage). The husband is pouring in, the wife is pouring in. This makes divorce immpossible. Can you seperate a bottle of Coke, for instance, that has totally merged with, and completely lost its identity in a merger with a bottle of Fanta, for instance?
Marriage is supposed to be a merger! It’s more of giving than taking! It’s a patnership where each has something to put in.

MORE THAN A MAN/WOMAN
You see, there’s a husband in every man, and there’s a wife in every woman. It only comes out in marriage, not so much when they are single. It’s the Manufacturer’s (God) decided packaging, with his job for each of them in mind.
So, in marriage you are supposed to be more than a man or a woman. You are to allow the husband or wife in you to take the stage.
Many enter marriage and they still continue thinking and behaving like they’re still single. It will hurt the marriage.

How do I go from just a man/woman to hysband/wife?, you ask.
1* Well, settle down and begin to study the scriptures and read relevant books, listen to messages and attend conferences that will correctly educate you to know and understand the role and Gods expectation of you as husband/wife.
2* Marriage is a spiritual institution, and it will take quality spirituality to do marriage and succeed in it the way God has planned. Adam and Eve were created as spirit beings. So they were not supposed to have any problem in marriage – they were created to function like God. But sin came and reduced them to mere human beings depending only on their senses, intellect, will and emotions to function (an impossible place of doing the will of God – Romans 8:6). The God/spiritual essence in them was corrupted.
Anything is possible, any demand of God is attainable only on the platform of spirituality – John 4:23-24; 3John v 2.

IT’S A RESPONSIBILITY
We have to begin to see our marriages as a responsibility that we owe God, the Church , our nation, and generations coming after us. Let’s begin to de-emphasise our personal needs, ambitions, expectations and desires.

ABOUT SEX…
If we could bring the oneness and ecstasy we enjoy in sex into life outside the bedroom (i.e. in the home), we’ll have better marriages, I tell you!
What brings about this oneness and ecstasy in bed? I’ll tell you… In sex, we use our hearts, and everythig God has wired us with to do sex. But in marriage we use our heads! Read Malachi 2:15; Romans 8:6-8.
I rest my case….
