Text :Matthew 4:1
“Then Jesus was led out into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit, to be tempted there by Satan…”

Temptation from the devil should not be an issue to any Christian…Yes! Otherwise the Holy Spirit would have protected Jesus from it, instead of leading him into the wilderness to be tempted.

To a man full of the Holy Spirit, temptation is not an issue. Rather, it’s an opportunity to advertise your superiority over the devil. Yes! So don’t be afraid of temptation; just live your life as the Holy Spirit leads you, and go wherever he directs you to go.

Walk in the spirit, and you’ll never be a victim of Satan’s temptations – Read Galatians 5:16.
Make sure you’re Word-loaded (like Jesus was) – Read Colossians 3:16; Mark 12:24; Psalm 119:11; Luke 4:1-14.
Know who you are in Christ. That you have been furnished with abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to reign over sin and Satan like Jesus did – Romans 5:17.
Know that God stands by to always give you victory – to cause you to triumph – 2Corinthians 2; 14; 1Corinthians 15:57.

Please note also, that the temptation is not the sin; it is falling for the temptation that is sin.

Any time the Holy Spirit is leading you (and you’re sure, not “forming” ), don’t be afraid of temptation. Will God now delay his agenda because the devil is around? Or, because he’s afraid that you will fall? No! He knows the stuff you’re made of. Jude 1:24 says he’s able to keep you from falling; and 1Corinthians 10:13 says he makes a way of escape for you when temptation comes! Isn’t he just a wonderful God and Father?

A man constantly given to spiritual exercise (what apostle Paul calls “godly exercise”) can never fall victim of Satan’s temptations. Jesus had fasted forty days and forty nights. So he had been fed and satisfied spiritually, and adequately empowered and strengthened with might in his inner man. So Satan couldn’t use his physical hunger to floor him! That’s why Jesus told us in Matthew 4:4 that man shall not live by bread alone…

If you’re empty (i.e. weak with hunger that has not been first satisfied ) in your spirit, surely, you’ll cheaply fall victim of Satan’s temptations. Because, you can handle the physical with the spiritual, but you can’t handle the spiritual with the physical (Read Ephesians 6:10-20).

Satan’s temptations are spiritual (they are spiritual attacks disguised in physical things). That’s why you must be constantly spiritually minded, sober and vigilant! Carnaly-minded Christians can’t handle the devil. No way!
Note that Satan is the tempter, not your boyfriend or girlfriend! Not that man or woman! Not your boss! Not your emotions! Not your belly!

Yes, the tempter will always come; but he doesn’t have to get you. When he came to Jesus, he tried everything he could, but Jesus frustrated him! And as Jesus is, so are you on this earth, according to 1John 4:17. So,stand strong and sure, always, in that legal reality! You’ll never again fall “mugu” for Satan and his gimmicks anymore, in Jesus precious name! Peace!

I would love to hear from you!
