THE PURPOSE OF PRAYER

NOT FOR RECEIVING THINGS…

Text:James 5:16
” The heartfelt continued prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available (which is so) dynamic in its working.. ” (AMP)

Prayer for the new creation is not for receiving things from God.

This is because in Christ, God has given us all things freely and richly to enjoy! Whatever we need for life and godliness is already given to us as participators in the divine experience (2Peter 1:3); Colossians 1:27; 1Corinthians 2:16).

Prayer for us, rather, is to stir up the power, the miracle-working ability of God in us (to trouble the water in us as they did the pool of Bethesda in John chapter 5).

It is to stir up “all authorityin heaven and in earth” that Jesus has given to us to operate the kingdom of God here on earth.

We pray to receive instructions, guidance, or direction from God (Jeremiah 33:3, 1Samuel 30:30; Ezekiel 37:1-10; Isaiah 30:21

Jesus never prayed to ask God for anything. For him prayer was a time of intimacy with God to give him progress report, get a pat on the back, and receive new instructions and direction for greater exploits

That’s why he always knew what to do or say in every situation ( John 5:37-30; John 6:6; Luke 6:12-13).

That’s why I always say that it’s not prayer that changes things; it’s the power that prayer makes available that changes things. Yes!

So if your prayer has not made power available,no matter for how long you prayed,! nothing will change.

This explains why many Christians are suffering so much frustration in prayer…

This, and much more, is what this my new book is rich with…“so that when you read, you may understand…” – Ephesians 4:3
