SCHOOL OF MINISTRY with Dr Ada Ezeka
THE MESSAGE IS NOT ENOUGH…
As much as the Message is important for every Minister of the Gospel of Christ, the bearer (or the preacher) of the Message (that is, the Minister, the messenger) is also important. Oh yes!
A powerful gospel, yes!
A gospel of great power, yes!
A gospel of blessings in its fullness, Yes!
Read Romans 1:16 and Romans 15:29.
That is why the ones that have been called to minister/preach it cannot afford to be people of anyhow personality or character.
For instance, if you package clean drinking water in a bottle that has been used for kerosene, fuel or perfume, (knowingly or unknowingly) it automatically pollutes the water and makes it detrimental to anyone who dares drink it.
Many ministers of this sweet and powerful gospel are doing it with anyhow character and personality, and they wonder why they’re not seeing the same dimension of result like that other preacher or minister.
Many resolutely go after titles, thinking that’s what will make the difference…
Some go back to school for more degrees…Then they come back and add: Architect, Engineer, Dr, Barrister, etc before their Pastor, Rev, Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist titles…All these things Paul said he had, but counted as dung, and chose rather to maximize the grace that came with his calling for the job – Read 1 Corinthians 10:15.
Listen to me, man/woman of God, the most authentic and correct qualification you need to do the job of an “able minister of the New Testament” or preacher of the gospel anywhere, any day, anytime, is who you are in Christ, what you have in Christ, and what you have been already enriched with in Christ…There are many scriptures that lets you know that.
Like : Colossians 1:27; Colossians 2:9-10; Romans 5:17; Philemon 1:6, etc.
So what everyone called into Ministry needs, is to subject themselves to quality, sound and authentic spiritual education that will wake up these “riches of his inheritance” in them, so as to provoke the exceeding greatness of his power in them, for maximum impact and results on the job.
That was the first thing Paul did after he was called into Ministry – Look at his results! I mean…! Matchless! Eternal!
Submission to quality spirit education, will form the required character and personality anyone called into Ministry needs to do Ministry…not to show off, con men, or attract attention to yourself…
Ministry is a spiritual assignment…But it’s so sad to know that there are so many spiritual illiterates on the job! No wonder, the impact of the preaching of this “gospel of our salvation” is not yet commensurate with the awesome power of it – like we saw with the “ignorant and unlearned men” who first preached it, and turned their cities “upside down”!
It’s time to examine ourselves and get down to underpinning our foundations – if we must see souls saved indeed, and the kingdoms of this world become the Kingdom of our God…Yes!
