WHO ARE YOU LIKE…

SUNDAY MOTIVATION with Dr Ada Ezeka

WHO ARE YOU LIKE IN YOUR GREATNESS?

Text: Ezekiel 31:2

“Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?”

The New Living Translation asks:

“To whom would you compare your greatness?”

Greatness is God’s plan, God’s will and desire for you. But…

Child of God, who are you like in your greatness? That is:

Who is your standard for greatness?

Who is your example of greatness?

Who is your yardstick for measuring your greatness, your success, progress, achievements and results?

Who are you using to rate yourself?

Whatever your answer is, I would like to let you know that Jesus is now our ultimate yardstick, standard, example or criteria for measuring greatness…as God has ordained greatness.

Luke 1:32 says,

“He shall be great (eminent) and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David…”

Let’s see God’s description of greatness- Ezekiel 31:3-9…(Note that this is talking about you:

>with fair branches

>forest-like shade

>of high stature (skyscraper high)

>it’s top among the thick bows (even among the thick clouds)…That is, so distinguished, standing out!

>the waters nourished it…That is, he/she is Word-made

>the deep (insights into divine realities – epignosis) made it tall…That is, matured into “the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:8-13)

>rivers ran round about its planting…That is “like a tree planted by the rivers of water – Psalm 1:1-3

>it towered higher than all the trees in the forest (immense, dwarfing all the trees in the forest)…That is,global fame and distinction.

>its boughs were multiplied

>its branches became long (influence)…because there was much water

>all the birds of the heavens made their nests in its boughs and under its branches (impact)

>all the wild beasts of the field brought forth their young under its branches (succor to many)

>under its shadow dwelt the great nations (hope of many) – Genesis 12:1-3

>thus was it beautiful (in a class of its own)

>the cedars in the garden of God could not hide or rival it (no comparison)…it was stunning in its majesty

And God concluded: “I made it beautiful!”

That is he/she was God-made, not self-made, or world-made!

Beloved, what I have done here, in this exposition, is to paint for you, a vivid picture of what the Word of Christ (dwelling and working in you and through you richly) can turn you into in this world of men!

Don’t give up on yourself! Don’t give up on the Word! It will not fail! It’s taking you somewhere! You will surely get there…in Jesus name! Isaiah 55:10-12). Alleluia!
