Text: Hebrews 1:13-14

“But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”

The ministry of angels is a New Testament reality that every believer in Christ must begin to pay attention to…if we must enjoy the full benefits of our “so great salvation”.

In Psalm 91:10-11 we read,

“There shall no evil befall thee,

neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

For he shall give his angels charge over thee,

to keep thee in all thy ways.”

The ministry of angels came with the salvation package…it’s one of “the things that accompany salvation”…freely given to us from heaven (our country)…to richly enjoy…as “ambassadors of Christ” here on earth…Hebrews 6:9,

“But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation…”

The Passion Translation Of Hebrews 1:14 says,

“What role then, do the angels have? The angels are spirit-messengers sent by God to serve those who are going to be saved.”

If have confessed Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, you are now saved – Romans 10:10. So you qualify for the ministry of angels.

When Jesus was here on earth (as the exemplary man we have now become in Christ), he enjoyed the Ministry of angels.

After his 40 days and 40 nights ordeal in the wilderness, where the devil came to distract him from his mission, Matthew 4:11 says,

“Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.”

He said to Nathaniel in John 1:51,

“And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.”

If you’re born again you are now in the likeness of Jesus, and for as long as you’re here on earth fulfilling God’s purpose for your life, you are also entitled to this same privilege that Jesus enjoyed.

He said in Matthew 26:53,

“Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?”

So, it’s your responsibility to place a demand for them.

Apostle Peter was arrested and put in prison, awaiting the day of his execution…

“But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him…

Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists…

Then the angel told him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” And he did. “Now put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered…”

That’s how Peter came out of that prison where he was “fastened with two chains between two soldiers (and) Others stood guard at the prison gate.”

You can read the full story in Acts 12: 1-12.

Even in the Old Testament, people like Daniel enjoyed the Ministry of angels for divine intervention….

Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den, and in the morning, when the king came to check on him…Daniel was still alive and well…(Remember Daniel was also a man of prayer?)…

He told the king, “My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.”

Read the full story in Daniel 6:1-22.

Finally, note that the words you speak (in line with God’s Word and promises) and your confessions of faith in the finished work of redemption)…can also provoke your ministering angels.

So you must be careful what you say…because satan’s angels are also at alert to work with the things you say that are contrary to the Word of God…

That’s why you are warned in Psalm 34:12-13…

“Does anyone want to live a life

    that is long and prosperous?

Then keep your tongue from speaking evil

and your lips from telling lies!”

Speaking words contrary to the realities of the finished work of redemption (even as a joke)…is speaking evil against your destiny, it’s speaking lies…

So, you need good, accurate and exact knowledge of who you are and what you have in Christ…to enjoy the ministry of angels – Read Ephesians 1:17-22; Philemon 1:6.

From today, I see you enjoying this awesome privilege of the Ministry of angels that is yours in Christ…in Jesus name!

I would love to hear from you!
