THE ENDANGERED FAMILIES…

WHILE THE MARKETS ARE RELOCKED DOWN…

Have you ever considered how many women make up the sellers, especially, in our Nigerian markets…all over the nation?

One morning we were driving through a market on Warri to Owerri road…

And I marveled at the myriad of women selling this or that…offloading their wares from trunks of mostly dilapidated trucks and vehicles…hustling from here to there…

I couldn’t hold back the tears as I wondered, “Where are the husbands of these women?”

Then you pass through the town and you see the ones frying akara, yam, sweet potato and plantain…or the ones roasting either corn, plantain or yam…

Or the ones going from shop to shop with their “Abacha” on their heads…looking for buyers…

Or the ones pushing their cooked rice, beans and stew through the streets, or construction sites, in a truck to feed the workers breakfast, lunch and dinner…

Many of all these women don’t get back home until very late in the night…to still cook for their husbands and children…

Most of them are the financial pillars in their homes…

You’ll even be surprised to know that some of them have sponsored their sons and daughters through their secondary schools and universities, both in-broad and abroad…Some even sponsor their children’s weddings…

And now…they’re “locking down” the markets…

My heart has been weighed down all morning, thinking…”What is going to happen to the income of all the families that these tireless women “bread-win”, while the markets are “locked down”?

Somebody please tell me…😭😭😭😭😭😭?
