WORD FOR THE WEEK | A LIFE GIVEN TO ONE GREAT PURPOSE

From The Book:  THE MAN GOD USES  by Oswald J.  Smith

THIS ONE THING I DO

“You remember that the Apostle Paul said, ‘This one thing i do.’ Paul was a man of one thing.

The man who is going to be successful (in ministry) is the man who has set everything aside, who has become a man of one thing, one purpose, one aim in life.

Any man with divided interest, any man with many schemes, plans and programmes, any man who is interested in other things, is not going to be successful  (in ministry). The one who is going to succeed is the one who has but one great purpose in life.

WHEN I WAS A STUDENT…

When I was a student, I never dreamed of getting married until I had graduated and had commenced my ministry.  For a student to take upon him the responsibility of a wife and family, is a tremendous financial burden. If his interests are thus divided, how can he concentrate on his studies and expect to succeed in his work? Would it not be better to wait until  he is through with his schooling before taking such a step?

MINISTRY AND BUSINESS?

I never have been able to understand how some ministers can carry on their work as ministers and the same time go into business on the side.

If God calls a man to preach the Gospel, he should live by the Gospel. There is no reason why he should make a little money on the side. If he turns to business he’s going to become interested in business. He will give thought to it and he will not be a man of one thing. Part of his time will be spent in the ministry and part in business.

I have learnt that the ministry demands all that there is of a man. It requires his entire attention  – all his thought, all his study, both day and night. He must be completely wrapped up in his vocation. He must be given over absolutely to the one great work to which God has called him….

Can a wife be a successful wife if she is interested in another man? Can a husband be a successful husband if he is interested in another woman? You know the answer…

MY FRIEND…

My friend, have you a number of different interests? Are you trying to do several things instead of devoting yourself to the one great work to which God has called you? Do you want to be a success? Then, I say again, concentrate on one thing… “

WORD FOR THE WEEK | HELLO, MISS BEAUTY & BRAINS!

HELLO, MISS BEAUTY & BRAINS!

Beauty soon fades… “
Proverbs 31:28 (MSG)

image

Yes, beauty soon fades, sweetheart ! So God couldn’t possibly have tied your great destiny to your outward looks. It’s all insi

That’s why he said in 1Samuel 16:7, “For I the Lord do not look as men look. Men look at the outward, I look at the heart. “

Your real beauty, girl, is hidden inside you. It’s the person God created you to be. BEAUTY is in the person (the man/woman inside that your body) not in your looks!

It is beauty that cannot be touched, destroyed, affected or corrupted by anything physical – like age, plastic surgery, cream, weather, accident, acid or deformity of any kind!

THAT’S WHY…

That’s why it’s spiritual ignorance to call a person who has no eyes, legs, hands, ears; or someone who is deaf and dumb “handicapped ” or “less-privileged”. The real person is inside – untouchable and unreachable by any calamity or congenital malformation! Continue reading WORD FOR THE WEEK | HELLO, MISS BEAUTY & BRAINS!

WORD FOR THE WEEK- IF IT’S NOT SERVICE, IT’S NOT SERVICE!

Text: Proverbs 28:20

” A faithful man shall abound with blessings. “

If you served and still ended up poor; still struggling and toiling, then, you didn’t really serve! Because you cannot serve faithfully, loyally and with heart service and not end up better and greater than you were before serving…
This scripture really grabs me,
A disciple is not above his teacher; but every one that is perfectly trained shall be like his teacher. “ Continue reading WORD FOR THE WEEK- IF IT’S NOT SERVICE, IT’S NOT SERVICE!

WORD FOR THE WEEK | SPEAKING WORDS OF POWER

Word-for-the-week_Words-of-Power_Ada-Ezeka_Blog

“What is in this man’s words that even demons obey him? ” – Luke 4:36 (TLB).

It’s not enough to speak, there must be power in your words! The Christian life is a speaking life. That is, a life that demands that you keep speaking (Joshua 1:8). It’s the only way to fill your life with good things (Matthew 12:35). Continue reading WORD FOR THE WEEK | SPEAKING WORDS OF POWER

Text  Acts 19: 11-16

Who you are is very important to the exercise of the Spirit in you for supernatural results. You can’t fulfill or operate the power of the Spirit with an anyhow personality. Continue reading WORD FOR THE WEEK – WHO ARE YOU?

WORD FOR THE WEEK: WASTE HINDERS SUPPLIES!

WASTE-HINDERS-SUPPLIES_Ada-Ezeka_Blog

Text: Luke 15:11- 17
“… and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. But when he had spent all… he began to be in want… “
Whatever God blesses you with, he wants it to multiply, so that he can through you, use it to answer other people’s prayers. That is the way God’s kingdom on this earth functions. That’s why stinginess, selfishness and keeping more than you actually have need of, hinders more things than you can ever imagine in God’s agenda (both for you and the work of God).
